At Park Vista, we believe you never stop
growing. We bring in guests for
interesting programs about travel,
music, the arts, and educational topics
for lively discussion. We arrange trips
to events held at Stambaugh and Powers
Auditoriums, Butler Museum of American
Art, Youngstown Symphony, Youngstown
Playhouse and the area’s many fine
restaurants and shopping malls. Our
close ties with nearby Youngstown State
University provide additional
opportunities for our residents.
Park Vista welcomes people of all
faiths. Services are held several times
a week in our beautiful
ecumenical chapel. Sunday worship services
feature many area clergy and lay
speakers. Catholic Mass, Episcopal
Eucharist, Holy Communion and memorial
services are held regularly. In
addition, transportation is provided to
a local Catholic and Presbyterian Church
on Sunday mornings. Park Vista’s
full-time Chaplain serves as a spiritual
advisor for our residents encouraging
them to continue in the faith of their
choice and helping to keep their pastors
informed of the needs of their
parishioners.
Wellness programs
that monitor the health of our
residents, enhance strength, balance and
overall physical fitness are offered on
a regular basis. Residents can take
advantage of our Nautilus equipment
located in the fitness center or
participate in group exercise classes
held three times a week.
The Internet Cafe
provides high speed Internet access for
residents who can enjoy e-mailing
friends and relatives or researching
their favorite topics. Assistance with
computer/Internet use is provided by
volunteers. The Cafe also offers a
charming atmosphere for casual
conversation over a cup of cappuccino.
A beautiful private dining
room is available for residents
celebrating a family event or for
meetings of small clubs and
organizations.
The Gathering Room
is available for large gatherings of
residents, senior groups and
professional development programs. With
accommodations for up to two-hundred
people this room is ideal for bringing
cultural and educational presentations
to our residents and can be reserved for
community events. Step outside the
Gathering room into our reading area.
Many other conveniences are located
right on campus, including a
well-stocked library, a
beauty/barber shop, and
the Knicknackery, a
store staffed by residents where
personal items, greeting cards, or
snacks may be purchased.
Many residents enjoy watching or
caring for our beautiful flower gardens
and some try their hand at growing
vegetables in special raised beds.
The Senior Center of Mahoning
County, conveniently located on
the Park Vista campus, offers a variety
of programs and classes, support
services and social events for area
seniors.
The Breakfast Club
meets monthly, from fall to spring,
offering a variety of interesting topics
