Our Senior Independence Adult Day Care Program provides a safe, comfortable and inviting atmosphere for those in need of supportive services and convenient hours to accommodate the schedules of both the participant and the caregiver. We believe that older adults can continue with full and interesting lives if they are encouraged and assisted.
Our program is designed to meet the individual needs of older adults who are lonely or socially isolated and would benefit from increased activities and companionship; have a physical impairment, such as Alzheimer’s or memory loss, and find their activities restricted; are confused or disoriented and in need of a protective setting; or their families or caregivers are employed or have other daytime responsibilities.
Adult day services include:
- On-going evaluation of each participant’s health, interests and abilities
- Guided activities such as arts, crafts, games, intergenerational programs and reminiscing, plus community outings, movies and daily exercise
- Nutritious meals, including lunch and snacks
- Personal care assistance
- Audible security system to protect those who may wander or pace
- Accessibility for the handicapped
- Care in a safe, supportive environment by a trained, professional staff
- Regular blood pressure monitoring
- Basic health screening by a on-staff registered nurse
Social services by a licensed social worker are also available for participants or families who are in need of counseling or supportive services. For those who do not have transportation, we will provide it to and from the center for a nominal fee.
