Westminster-Thurber offers special care for Alzheimer's and other memory-related illnesses through a unique and innovative full-service program providing a progression of care from assisted living apartments to 24-hour nursing care.

Assisted Living Special Care
Residents within our assisted living environment enjoy private studio apartments with full bathrooms. To promote a feeling of home while keeping walking distances manageable, a residential-style kitchen and adjacent dining room are located a few steps away.

A large living room offers a relaxing and stimulating area for residents and their families. Craft rooms contain plenty of space and supplies for residents to enjoy hobbies, gardening or other life-long interests.

Respite care or short-term stays for individuals with Alzheimer's or other memory-related illnesses are available to provide relief and assurance to caregivers while they must be away for vacations or for other reasons.

Each of our apartments feature the following:

• Wall-to-wall carpeting
• Basic cable TV

• Lever-handled doors
• Walk-in showers with bench seats
• Lighted bathroom vanities

Alzheimer's Care in our Health Care Center
Residents within our Health Care Center also enjoy private rooms with an open half-bath that allows them easy access and visibility. The circular interior design of the center along with a specially designed floor system allows for safer, less confusing walking. An outdoor area is secure, yet provides open space.
